Fire Lighting Workshop (1 day 09:00am – 17:00pm)

This 1 day course is designed to give you the information and knowledge of how to start a fire come rain or shine. You’ll learn about the different materials you can use from the local environment as well as what manmade materials can aid in fire lighting, the safety aspects of fire and the numerous benefits of its uses. Needless to say, marshmallows play a big part in the day and you’ll even come home with your very own bow drill set for fire by friction!

Team Building (1.5 days 09:00am – Mid-day the next day)

Teams and groups are put through a school of tuition by the on site instructor/s for the first half of the day. After learning about the principals of survival, teams are dispatched to put their news skills to the test by setting up camp. Preparing their own food, building their own shelter, filtering and purifying their own water and starting their own fires. Teams must complete the tasks successfully in order to survive the night ahead. Equipment will be scattered around the site and teams must scavenge what they can find to improve their chances of survival until the following day. The winning group will be selected by the lead instructor on the day. The losers however, will partake in a bush tucker trial-like forfeit which will remain a secret until the day so to not spoil the surprise of what may be in store.

Survival Weekend (Friday 7pm – Sunday Mid-day)

This weekend activity course is one of our most popular courses and we attribute this to the timeframe our customers get to learn their new skills and put them to the test. You’ll get the chance to occupy your own constructed shelter for night or use one of our hammocks, cook up freshly prepared game, learn all about fire and it’s uses, tool safety, foraging, play games and even have the chance to come away with your own bow drill set for fire by friction. Stag Bushcraft

We met Russ and Ritchie the dog in the afternoon who led us down the the secluded forest location where we made camp for the evening. Russ was very knowledgable and taught us how to make a fire and gave us a tour of the site. He explaining and taught various survival skills which was great.

Great Day Out!!

Fantastic day out learning lots of new skills whilst having fun and spending time with the family. Beautiful and relaxing setting for a great day out whatever the weather. Learning about camp structures, how to fillet a fish, how to start a camp fire and foraging for safe foods to eat, whilst drinking plenty of tea and coffee :)

Definitely Recommended

I booked a day of activities with Cumulus for a Stag Weekend. I asked for a morning of bushcraft with an emphasis on foraging and then an afternoon coasteering session and Cumulus did not disappoint. We were collected from our accommodation and driven over to Corfe for a really interesting morning, foraging for useful plants and herbs before building campfires and cooking lunch. Our guide Paul was first class. Very knowledgeable and a nice bloke too. Coasteering was as good as we expected from a pro outfit like Cumulus. Everyone really enjoyed the session, Tommo and Simon were great guides and the scenery around Dancing Ledge was extra special. All in all a very well run, well priced and professional outfit for a stag weekend or any sort of activity day.

Great nights camping with my daughter!

Great nights camping with my daughter. Learnt how to start a fire with flint and put up a hammock! Great site and woodland as well.
Good work Cumulus!!

Amazing fire by friction course

Starting a fire with nothing but wood and friction has always been a big one on my bucket list. I've seen it on lots of TV programs but have never made the leap to have a go at it myself until I recently booked myself and my eldest son in with Cumulus for a fire by friction course. Our instructor Ian was brilliant, he taught me everything I needed to know, was very patient with my questions and I had a fire going within an hour which felt like a huge achievement! The course was in a perfect location in a secluded Forrest with great views. My Son also had a great time and couldn't have been happier when the instructor warmed up some hot chocolate and marsh mellows on the fire. We will be definitely taking part in some more of the Cumuls Bushcraft courses.
