NCS & Youth Residential

Here at Cumulus we pride ourselves on designing bespoke programmes to fit each individual group depending on the duration and nature of the trip. The unique ethos of National Citizen Service (NCS) groups is reflected in the way we structure teams within the programme.

Each programme contains a unique set of activities that can include coasteering, mackerel fishing, dorset waterpark and bushcraft to name just a few. Our highly qualified and knowledgeable instructors will engage all young people at every level to ensure an action packed and educational trip to remember.

Our tented Cumulus camps provide a unique setting in which everyone can relax in a camp exclusive to your group and under the expert care of your course director.

Hearty meals cooked by your own dedicated field chef, who can cater to your every need, complement the homely surrounds with spacious standup tents set around a central dining marquee and communal area. Creature comforts also include on site shower and toilet facilities, phone charging area and plenty of space for on-site games and evening activities.

A Massive Thank You!

Firstly, a massive thank you to yourself and your team for the service you have provided this summer. I personally have been very impressed with what has been delivered and my team have come back with a lot of praise for the whole set up. With this in mind I am very keen to start planning ahead as we would be delighted to return to Dorset next year for our Summer 2019 programme.

Fantastic Summer of Activities

Thanks to Sam and the whole team at Cumulus for providing another fantastic summer of activities and base camp support to our National Citizen Service participants. With a professional and effective set up at the campsite, our young people were comfortable and fed very well during the week. They also had a great time trying the activities including coasteering and climbing at the beautiful Dancing Ledge, raft building and kayaking. We are very much looking forward to returning in September and next summer. Thank you.

Fantastic Residential

We had two fantastic 5-day residential weeks with Cumulus in 2015. The adventure activities were very professional and a lot of fun, a great experience for the group of 60 for each week. Organisation and logistics were managed efficiently and this, together with the fresh food and catering facility, made us feel very well looked after. We have now booked for 4 weeks in 2016 and we’re all looking forward to it once again.

Just ask....!

It is always nice to have confidence in an outdoor provider. Cumulus is a well structured organisation that delivers great learning for young people in a safe and managed way. Sessions are structured and informative and Safety is paramount. What sets them aside from other providers is that nothing is to difficult. If there is an issue or a problem you just have to ask and something is done about it. Like all these things you need to communicate, and Cumulus do. I always find that people complain if there is an issue, the question should be asked of these people have you spoken to the provider about it? If they do with Cumulus things are sorted out. I have the confidence to rebook with Cumulus Outdoors, knowing i will get a business that wants to make things work.

A fantastic week for NCS

I would like to put on record my sincerest gratitude and appreciation for the quality service provided during my stay. Your site team were so friendly and easy to work with that it made the experience not only smooth but also extremely enjoyable! All of the young people had a great time and that could not have been achieved without the positive influence from your staff.

I would like to give a special mention to Rhys and Roxy. The attentiveness, care and patience shown by Rhys throughout our stay was second to none. The quality advice that he was able to offer with regards to all things camping made for a much more comfortable stay than many had anticipated and in fact, we still had young people talking about how much they missed him for the remainder of the programme!

Roxy was also top quality! Not only was Roxy having to cater for some very strange dietary requirements, but she always did this with a smile on her face (and I know how tedious young people can be at times!) I was able to very easily communicate with Roxy in order to ensure we could achieve the right results for the young people and this is a commodity that is very rare with other outdoor activity providers that we have worked with in the past.

All in all, the genuine care and desire to help our programme succeed was the best I have experienced from all of the outdoor activity centres I have visited over the years so on behalf of my cohort, thank you for making this summer so memorable!”
