Coasteering for Hen Parties

Hen party and one instructor coasteering at Dancing Ledge

Please note, the coasteering season is April – October dependent on sea conditions.

Coasteering is the most popular adventure activity we offer groups looking for a unique hen do in Dorset. This adrenaline fuelled activity takes place at Dancing Ledge and boasts spectacular views along the Jurassic Coast and out to sea. During the session your group will scale rocky outcrops and jump from ledges into the water below. You will choose the height from which you jump, ensuring everyone is comfortable each step of the way.

Over the course of the session our experienced instructors will guide you along the cliff face. You’ll have the opportunity to explore picturesque sea caves and stop for photos to commemorate your special day (please bring your own waterproof camera). We’ll be led by your group and tailor the challenges around your specific needs.

Coasteering can be enjoyed as a standalone experience or combined with an overnight stay in our tipis overlooking Brownsea Island. Other activities can be included for an additional fee. These include bushcraft, climbing and abseiling, tag archery and many more.

Minimum group size 8

Duration 3.5 hours

Glamping Hen Do's

If you’re looking for an a truly unique experience, why not combine one of our coasteering sessions with an overnight stay? Our popular glamping experience can be booked for 1 or 2 nights and includes use of our impressive Nordic Tipis and a host of other benefits.

Our Nordic Tipis are made from solid wooden poles and a light tan-coloured canvas. They provide shade on hot summer days or a warm and cosy feel (with real log fires!) on cooler summer evenings. With enough room to seat 30 people or stand 50, our Tipi’s really do create the perfect atmosphere. All you have to do is bring the marshmallows and games!

Location: Near historic Corfe Castle. Just two hours from London and 40 minutes from Bournemouth and Poole. We’ll meet your group on site.

* Due to the campsite being a SSSI, we cannot have loud music or drunken behaviour down at our campsite. Any time these rules are broken, you will be asked to leave. We have to be very strict with this I’m afraid as it’s a beautiful campsite. Alcohol not supplied.

  • Saturday – Arrive / Lunch. Introduction, un-pack, fun team games until lunch. Lunch being hot, e.g., Beef Fajitas
  • Saturday PM – 1 Activity – Coasteering
  • Saturday Eve – Dinner and drinks* and a camp fire in the Tipi.
  • Sunday AM – Cooked Breakfast & Depart

Hen Do FAQs

What time can we arrive if we are glamping?

Dependant on whether it’s a 1 or 2 night stay, we can be really flexible. Please get in touch and state when you would like to arrive and we will see what we can do!

Is the Glamping site exclusive?

Yes! You will have exclusive use of our private tented village, right next to the waters edge on Poole Harbour. You will not share the field or facilities with anyone for the duration of your glamping hen do.

Can we choose any adventure activity?

You can pick any of our outdoor adventure activities to incorporate into your glamping hen do. Have a look on our website and if you spot something that you would like to do, please get in touch and we will arrange this for you.

Are we in safe hands?

Of course – all of our instructors are fully qualified to lead activities in their chosen area of expertise, they are friendly and very experienced in looking after first time adventurers.

What do we need to bring?

For a glamping hen do you will need your own bedding (duvets/ sleeping bags/ pillows), your own snacks and personal items. We supply the tipi tents, camp kitchen and chef and transport if required.

There is electric available on-site, but only through the main kitchen and dining tipi. There are private portaloo toilets (nice ones!) and showers on the immediate site, these are exclusive to you.

You will need clothes and trainers suitable for outdoor activity and which will get wet. Waterproofs and warm clothing may also be very useful depending on the weather, hat, sun screen and a set of dry clothes to change into.

We provide all safety equipment for each activity.

What do we need for Coasteering?

Swimming costume, towel, trainers for the water (please – no wetsuit shoes or flip flops!). A wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet will be provided. You do need to be able to swim 25m and be confident in the water!

Do we need previous experience?

No you do not need to have had any previous experience of any of the activities as our instructors will assess your ability and set the programme accordingly.
