Paddle Sports Courses are available throughout the year at Cumulus Outdoors Residential Centre. They are delivered by trained professionals and are designed to suit individuals working in the outdoor education sector. Paddle Sport Safety and Rescue – 1 Day Course

This course will support you to explore and practice simple strategies and safe skills that provide you with the tools to solve common paddling issues in a sheltered water environment, providing peace of mind when venturing out onto the water.

  • Duration: 6 hours
  • Prerequisite: Paddle any craft in flat-water with a confident and competent way (explore award)

Paddle Sports Instructor – 2 Day Course

This is the qualification used by outdoor centres, organisations and clubs to support their activity delivery. Canoe, Kayak, Sit on Top Kayak, Stand Up Paddleboard, this course allows you to develop your existing skills and passion for paddle sport into becoming a versatile instructor.

  • Paddle UK (BCAB) PSI
  • Duration: 16 hours + e-learning
  •  Prerequisites:
    1. Paddle any craft in flat-water with a confident and competent way (explore award)
    2. Hold Paddle Sport Safety and Rescue Award
    3. Membership to Paddle UK
    4. Registered for the award

Paddle Discover Award lets you play on our lake trying different craft and taking the next steps to becoming an independent paddler. Develop your skills and understanding of the factors which affect your paddling.
