Air Rifles for Schools
Using air rifles in a safe and fun environment teaches the fundamentals of gun handling and safety whilst encouraging unique skills. The principles of marksmanship are hard learnt, and patience is key. This session can be tailored to ability and age but typically starts with how to safely handle, load and fire the air rifle in a controlled environment. Our lightweight air rifles have no kick and apprehension is replaced by a desire to learn more and compete against their peers.

Safe air rifle practice
All sessions culminate in a fun competition shoot putting newly acquired skills to the test and often providing some interesting results! Take away your targets with pride and enjoy basking in the glory of being the most accurate marksman in the school.
This session not only inspires confidence but allows participants to further their skills in listening, concentration and patients before achieving great accuracy on the range.
Air rifle shooting requires a specific set of skills, which can be mastered through repetition. Unlike some of the other adventure activity skills we offer, which are predominantly physical, this activity requires a slow and gentle approach. Through trial and error students will learn to refine their movements, control their breathing and focus on the task at hand. This will enable them to successfully fire at the target.
Focus is essential if young people to succeed at air rifle shooting. They must listen intently to safety instructions and guidance from our team and focus on the target n order to hit the bullseye. They must be calm and controlled, focussing on their breathing and positioning.
Air rifle shooting is a great way of seeing how maths can be used outside of the classroom. Use basic numeracy and maths skills to work out the direction of travel and add up your individual and teams total score.
