Activity & Seasonal Instructors
We are looking for confident, friendly and motivated instructors to deliver safe and fun outdoor activities in Dorset. Ideally, you will have experience working with youth groups, schools and adults in the outdoors.

Cumulus Outdoors are school residential activity specialists based in Swanage in Dorset. We pride ourselves on delivering top quality school trips and activity days in beautiful locations along the Jurassic Coast. We are the only Outdoor Centre in Swanage and are a stone’s throw away from the town and beach.
We provide adventure activities as part of tented and indoor residentials stays, including Coasteering, Climbing, Ropes Course, Tag Archery, Paddlesports including SUP, Bushcraft and much more. We consider ourselves very professional in what we deliver and we are now looking for instructors to join our team for the 2025 season as part of our continuing expansion plans.

Accommodation
We offer subsidised accommodation at our residential base in Swanage, conveniently located within walking distance of the town, beach, and several sea-cliff climbing spots. Traveling in a van? No worries—park & hook up and enjoy access to our staff room and showers.

Training and Kit Opportunities

- ERCA High and Low Ropes Instructor
- RLSS Beach Lifeguard
- 16 hour Outdoor First Aid
- D1 Licence + CPC
- Paddlesport Instructor & Paddlesport Leader
- NCC Coasteering Guide

Qualifications and Pay
We offer two grades of pay based on your qualifications.
Essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 16 Hour First Aid Certificate
- Safeguarding Level 2
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
Desirable
- Coasteering Guide Experience
- ERCA High and Low Ropes Instructor
- Paddlesport Leader
Grade 1 – Up to £742.50 per week
Must have:
- Essential list, plus:
- Paddlesports Instructor
- Bushcraft Knowledge
- Previous Instructing Experience
Grade 2 -Up to £770.00 per week
Three or more of the following awards (must include RCI):
- Paddlesports Instructor
- Walking Qualification
- ERCA High Ropes Course Instructor
- Beach Lifeguard
- RCI
Hours:
A – Normal working hours for instructing only (Monday – Friday) 08.30 – 17.00.
B – Normal working hours for instructing and overnights 08.30 Monday morning – 17.00 Friday afternoon inclusive.
Additional weekend work paid at Freelance Rates – £75.00 Half Day / £140.00 Full Day
Duration:
Monday 31st March – Friday 26th September 2025
Contracts likely to be extended to Mid-November
