Camp Cooks

We’re hiring cooks at our Tented Villages near Swanage. The perfect outdoor summer job in the Dorset countryside. No previous experience or qualifications required.

The Camp Cook role is possibly one of the most important jobs in the company – keeping everyone fed! You will be responsible for meals for your given camp, no previous experience needed just a basic understanding of cooking and the willingness to immerse yourself in camp. Sticking to a step by step guide you will be given in house training and put through a health and hygiene qualification and an allergy awareness course which will have you turning out chilli for 60 in no time!

To be fun and outgoing and be able to work as a member of a small team
Good self management, time keeping and turnout
The desire to keep striving for excellence in everything we do
Enjoy working in the outdoors with students of all ages

Availability

Preferably available for staff training week commencing 2nd April.
Available for camps core weeks 6th May – Mid July with option to extend

Desirable but not essential on application

Enhanced DBS certificate issued within the last three years
First aid qualification
Food hygiene qualification
Safeguarding qualification

About the role

Each day is a split shift
Daily jobs include cooking breakfast for the group
Prepping sandwich fillings
Prepping and cooking evening meal and pudding
Ordering food on a daily basis from our central office
Keeping food storage areas clean and tidy
Keeping the kitchen to a 5* standard
Assisting the runner offloading and loading
Washing up kitchen equipment
Responsible for the organisation of crockery boxes
Keeping an eye on camp when groups are off site (closing tents if raining, starting the fire for group arriving back on site, keeping camp tidy)
