Cumulus Outdoors triumphs at the Dorset Tourism Awards 2019

Cumulus Outdoors received the Gold Award for ‘Active and Sporting Experience’ at the Dorset Tourism Awards presentation evening held at the Bovington Tank Museum on 17th October. The award ‘Recognises providers of truly memorable and immersive active and sporting activities for visitors to participate in’. The judges were made up from a panel of past award winners, media representatives, independent experts and several others with relevant expertise, digital scoring across Web and Social media was also included as part of the judging process.
As well as looking for an ‘immersive and interactive experience’, the award also recognised the contribution to the visitor economy with a significant proportion of business generated by people visiting from outside the local area.
Director Steve Thompson was delighted to accept the award. “This award is not about the company, it’s about the professional, hard-working and passionate team we have working within it and I’m delighted Dorset Tourism have recognised this through the presentation of this award” he said, “we feel very fortunate and privileged to live and work in the fabulous Isle of Purbeck within the stunning county of Dorset and we feel equally privileged to be able to help people, both the young and not so young, to engage with it and enjoy it as much as we do”.
Over 260 people attended the event with 77 finalists across a range of award categories.
