New and improved facilities for 2023 at Cumulus Outdoors

We’re improving the facilities at Cumulus Outdoors Residential Centre and Tented Villages. Here’s a sneak peak at our plans for 2023.
Cumulus Outdoors is totally focused on satisfying the needs of school and youth groups. Our number one aim is to provide outstanding experiences that young people will remember for years to come. Every year we review our offering to ensure we’re at the forefront of school residential trips in Dorset. We’re always looking for new ways to thrive and develop to keep schools returning year on year.
Our ongoing investment in facilities and providing new activities and services has been gratefully received by school and youth groups. This is evidenced by the the abundance of 5-star reviews we’ve been delighted to read. But, we never stand still! We’ve been very busy planning and implementing further improvements at our residential centre and tented villages. Here we give you a sneak peak at the new facilities we will be installing in 2023. We look forward to welcoming back old friends and making new ones later in the year.
New & Improved Facilities
Target sports range
2023 will see a new bespoke target sports range installed at our hard top residential centre to replace the temporary range built early on in Cumulus’ tenure. This will compromise 360° safety netting, new non-rebound surfacing and all-weather firing point
Washing & drying facilities
New washing and drying facilities for wetsuits and water kit will be installed at the residential centre. This will help keep equipment in tip top condition and ready for use week in week out.
New tented village
In addition to our residential centre we also provide the option to get back to nature at one of our tented villages situated on the shores of Poole Harbour. We plan to add another site for 2023 in an equally special location. Each site will have a large communal Tipi and onsite catering facilities. This will enable young people to experience everything the great outdoors has to offer.
Campsite facilities are continually reviewed and renewed with an emphasis on comfort whilst still maintaining a ‘back to nature’ feel. We always endeavour to minimise our impact on the countryside we are privileged to use. Renewed hot shower facilities combined with updated Nordic Tipi centrepieces give Cumulus tented villages a unique feel. Camp kitchens in 2022 once again achieved a 5-star food hygiene rating.
Woodland management
Management of woodland around the residential centre and at camp is something Cumulus takes very seriously from a safety and ecological perspective. Specialist tree surgeons from our friends at Bourne VP Ltd will undertake any tree work that is needed for the 2023 season.
We’re very proud of the work we do and humbled by the wonderful feedback we receive. It is so rewarding to witness at first hand the young people enjoying and thriving in the great outdoors.
