New Powerboat experience introduced to DofE Gold Residential programme

Cumulus Outdoors has revised their DofE Gold Residential programme, introducing a fantastic new water sport adventure.

The programme already boasts Coasteering, a fabulous sea and cliff based activity which involves rock scrambling, swimming, cliff jumping and cave exploration. There’s also a Lake Day with SUPS, canoeing, kayaking and raft racing, and now, new for 2020, is a fantastic powerboat session! This is a RIB ride around Swanage Bay and Old Harry Rocks with the opportunity to drive subject to weather and sea conditions. The high ropes high tower challenge could be next followed by the fun and competition of tag archery.

Our brand new dual-based DofE residential week provides participants with a bungalow and glamping experience. Participants will stay at our residential centre in Swanage and then have the opportunity to sleep under the stars in a hammock on the shores of Poole Harbour, overlooking the spectacular Dorset coast.

Development of life-skills is an integral part of this residential programme with leadership, organisational skills, budget handling and team bonding all emphasised. You may find yourself a team leader or being responsible for time keeping and correct kit requirements, or perhaps chief cook in charge of the kitchen!

Whether it’s building on existing skills or quite literally taking the plunge to learn something new, no great learning comes without challenge. Stepping outside of your comfort zone to discover who you can really become is what it’s all about. In line with the aims and objectives of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, the Cumulus Outdoors gold residential programme is designed to develop existing skills or discover new talents. After this truly unique challenge you leave with amazing memories, new friends and new skills.
